News reaches us from the Vatican that Pope Francis has a cunning plan to rid himself of his turbulent 4×4… He’s going to raffle it off for charity.
For those with a few quid just burning a hole in their pocket, the 4×4 is a brand new Fiat Panda. The colour? Papal white, of course. The 4×4 retails for around £15,000. You could probably add a zero or two to that, what with it belonging to the Pope an’ all. It’s one of several prizes you could win, including bikes, coffee makers, a pen, a hat and other items given to the Pope during his short papacy thus far.
Basically then, it’s the world’s biggest school fair – with a stellar top prize and a good cause at its heart. £7 will grant you a single raffle ticket, so just pop over to Vatican City and pick one up. It’s all part of Pope Francis’ drive to reduce waste at the Vatican, make efficient the finances, and donate even more money to those who really need it.
The Fiat Panda 4×4 comes with all the usual funky trimmings, 58 MPG and has a top speed of 103mph. Selling it is a major blow though, as we’d pay double the raffle ticket cost to see the Pope tear it up in his Fiat Panda 4×4 on Top Gear’s ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.’
