Land Rover Unveils New Range Rover Evoque

Since it first went on sale back in 2011, the Range Rover Evoque has been a huge success story for Land Rover and has so far proven to be their most successful model yet.

Last year, in particular, saw the Evoque achieve its most successful sales performance thus far. However, despite its success, Land Rover has recently announced that they’ll be introducing a number of changes to the Evoque in order ensure this model continues to perform well in this highly competitive market.

The most significant change featured in this new model is its engine. The 2016 Range Rover Evoque will come equipped with a new, British-built 2.0 litre four cylinder Ingenium diesel engine, which is also available in two power outputs (148 and 178 bhp). This new engine is up to 30kg lighter than the 2.2 litre diesel engine featured on the current Evoque model, and is significantly more fuel-efficient too.

In fact, this revised model will be the most fuel-efficient Land Rover ever, with the company claiming that the new Evoque model is capable of up to 68mpg. As such, it’s 18% more efficient than the Evoque’s current engine. This new engine also promises CO2 emissions as low as 109g/km.

Significantly, Land Rover has also announced that, thanks to the vehicle’s improved fuel efficiency, the new Evoque will have some of the best residual values for its sector of the market. This, in combination with its extended service intervals of 21,000 miles, means that owners can enjoy lower running costs and could even save as much as £3,700 over a threeyear period.

The exterior has also had a bit of a remodel too, including a new front bumper, LED headlights and a new grille design.

The 2016 model Evoque will also be equipped with Land Rover’s new All-Terrain Progress Control, which promises to maintain a slow speed when driving off-road, allowing the driver to concentrate on steering when faced with tricky terrain.

The new Evoque will be officially unveiled at the upcoming 2015 Geneva Motor Show and whist pricing has yet to be confirmed, it’s expected that this newcomer won’t stray too far from today’s model.
