Here at CWS 4×4 we love all types of 4x4s both old and new, foreign or British born. Any announcements of new models make us all very excited so here is a review for the new Honda CR-V 2.2 i-DTEC SE 4WD. The first version of this car arrived all the way back in 1995; over five million have been sold throughout the world. It is now in its fourth version and its popularity is growing. We love Honda here at CWS 4×4 as it is built right here in the UK at the Honda plant based in Swindon.
On First Glance
The new version of the CR-V makes a huge impression as soon as you see it; with its wide front, incredibly bold grille and special elongated front headlights. This car is guaranteed to make a huge statement when out and about. With an expanse of glass is looks marvellously modern and contemporary that some of its less glamorous rivals.
Looking Inside
Most of the Honda ranges have one thing in common and that is the amount of space available to both the driver and the passengers. The boot capacity is an impressive 589 litres, but can increase to 1146 litres if you flatten the seats. The inside has a luxurious feel to it making the travel experience truly wonderful. The only aspect of the interior that is a disappointed is the fact that the seats are not electronically adjustable.
The Engine
Under the bonnet is a 2.2 i-DTEC that produces 150PS as well as 350NM of torque. As a manual model it has 6-speed transmission therefore it is ideal for towing. The car itself reacts well to the road, even if uneven and produces a fantastic ride quality although. The Honda CR-V is equipped with a Honda-designed ECON button to aid fuel economy. This car also features an Ambient Meter that alters its colour to reveal to you whether you’re driving efficiently.
At CWS 4×4 we are impressed with the Honda’s new style and driving capabilities. Unfortunately though not everyone is able to afford a brand new car and you might not even need one some cars just need a little love and care, which is why we specialise in 4×4 parts.
